Iyengar Ropes 

Learn the ropes! A 3 hour CE Course designed to get you familiar with the ropes wall utilized in the Iyengar Yoga Tradition. Offering support and access for all bodies and abilities, prepare to be challenged and held in postures.

3 Hours | WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

01. We will do a light asana practice to open the body and then head to wall for a fun and encouraging workshop.

02. Get experience on the wall while learning safely and in a inclusive setting. 

03. Semi-private workshops to get you familiar with the ropes walls, limited to six students per session as a workshop, 18 max for teacher trainings.

04. Each session will cover inversions, standing posture support, backbends and mobility exercises.

Prana Sensitivity

Explore your prana, get in touch with your energetic body, and use your hands to feel more than just touch. The life force energy that moves within each of us can be experienced on a subtle level through touch, internal sensation, and visually. This entry-level yoga business course is perfect for teachers wanting knowledge on how to start their teaching business, or for studios looking to supplement their 200 hour training with the business of yoga.

2 hours | WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

01. This lecture style course is designed to set new teachers up with the information pertinent to entering the yoga industry, from legalities to getting hired.

02. Learn the difference between tax classifications of independent contractors and employees and how to cover your exposure to the IRS. Discover ways to actually MAKE money in the industry.

03. Feature talk on what to do once you have graduated from a teacher training, ways to get hired and create exposure as a new teacher.

04. How to avoid yoga burn-out, teach from a full cup, and stay grounded in new waters.

Crafting A Unique Class

This course is designed to bring teachers to a higher level of service with their offerings, as we look to inspire students while inviting them to a sustainable practice. We will discover ways to use the Yamas and Niyamas as a foundation in our classes with a focus on safety in postures, all while weaving together a unique experience for students.

01. Use the Yamas and Niyamas as a foundation for teaching. Discussion on application in personal practice, life, and as teachers. Asana practice with focus on Yamas & Niyamas, integrating themes in classes

02. Debunking of old cues and discussing their origins is the primary focus of the practice-based part of course. Research from the physical therapy world and an exploration of natural movement patterns create a safe foundation to teach from.

03. Define your "Why" as a yoga teacher and develop themes for use in your classes. Discussion and handouts, along with journaling exercises.

04. Come ready to practice and bring a journal for exercises and notes.

8 hours | WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

Ethics of Touch & Assisting

Touch and hands-on assists are a healing modality for both practitioner and student. In our modern age, clarifying boundaries as yoga teachers and using touch in an ethical way is imperative. Based on research from the mental health and massage therapy industries, we will apply parameters to keep our students and ourselves safe.

6 hours | WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

01. Lecture on the ethics of touch, our role as teachers/healers, and keeping transferance and counter-transferance to a minimum.

02. Exploring the tiers of assists based on the archetypes of learners and how to use each within a class.

03. Group  and partner practice with hands-on assists aimed to inccrease confidence in touch, prana sensitivity and mindfullness.

04. Tools to incorporate into your teaching and/or facility to better accomodate for PTSD and trauma survivors.

Restorative Yoga & Nidra

Reset your nervous system with deep relaxation and cozy up to your new best friends: props. Restorative yoga and yoga nidra pull practitioners into the parasympathetic nervous system, relieving stress and cultivating balance in our fast-paced lives. Gain the knowledge to help your students relax and receive.

3 hours | WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

01. General discussion on the nervous system, the role of restorative yoga and how to sequence a class, and an overview of props.

02. A restorative yoga practice.

03. The use of yoga nidra and its implications in trauma therapy will be discussed along with the science behind how it works.

04. A yoga nidra practice.

Arm Balances & Inversions

In this course, I share my favorite part of the practice: inverting and taking flight! We often think we aren't strong enough or have to be advanced in the practice to attempt and that's not the case. This workshop will help you give your students access to inversions for all levels of practice.

4 hours | WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

01. This four-hour workshop is geared at prepping the body (in a safe way) to take flight in arm balances and inversions.

02. We will work toward postures including crow & crane, running man, peacock, headstand, handstand and forearm stand.

03. No need to already have these poses mastered - this workshop showcases the foundations of each posture with plenty of layers for modifications.
